The bar model · a real PSLE question, made visible

PSLE 2019 · P2 · Q10 Ratio · before & after

A chess club had boys to girls in the ratio 4 : 1. Then 6 boys and 6 girls joined, and it became 3 : 1. Did the boys' share go up or down?

Boys
4 units
Girls
1 unit

Add 6 to each bar → 3 : 1, so 1 unit = 12 → 48 boys, 12 girls.

The twist: the boys' share actually fell, 80% → 75%.

Why Genius+

At most centres, the tutor delivers the quality. At Genius+, the system delivers the quality, the tutor delivers the system.

Math that clicks isn't luck. It's a method, taught the same way every time, so your child's progress doesn't depend on which tutor they get.

Mrs Eileen Toh doesn't teach from someone else's textbook, she writes her own. Our students learn from a complete, in-house curriculum: 60+ textbooks and 40+ workbooks, built because nothing else met the standard. Every math tutor at Genius+ is trained in the same method, so the lesson is the same standard at every branch.

Hong, parent of a P6 student
AL6AL4
"My child was scoring AL6 in P6 Term 1. AL5 by Term 2, then AL4 at Prelims. The lessons are recorded, and there's constant follow-up after every school exam."

Questions parents ask

Where are your branches?

We have branches at Bukit Timah (Coronation Plaza), Punggol (Edgedale Plains) and Pasir Ris (Pasir Ris West Plaza). We also serve the Upper Thomson area through our sister schools, Academia & Twig, call us to enquire. Online classes run the same system nationwide.

How big are your classes?

Classes are capped at 8 students, and several primary tiers are smaller. Small classes mean every gap is caught, no child hiding at the back. Every lesson is also recorded, so a missed class can be rewatched.

What makes Genius+ different from other math tuition?

We write our own curriculum, 60+ textbooks and 40+ workbooks, and teach every child the same structured "Lock & Key" method. Quality comes from the system, not from hoping your child gets the best tutor. And every PSLE question comes with a worked solution and a video.

Do you teach secondary and O-Level (E-Math and A-Math)?

Yes. We teach Lower Secondary, O-Level E-Math and A-Math, and IP math. The same system that builds PSLE accuracy carries through to secondary, visible working, a fix for careless mistakes, and method marks that hold under exam pressure.

How much does it cost?

Fees depend on the level and programme. We'll give you a clear, itemised quote during the diagnostic consult, no obligation. Financial assistance is available, case by case, for families with genuine need. We'd rather you make a properly informed decision than a rushed one.

Do you offer a trial lesson?

Yes, a free trial lesson, one per child. We start with a short diagnostic to find the specific gap before recommending the right programme. No pressure, no hard sell, value first.
