For P6 families · PSLE 2026 · Sec 1 in 2027
The next eight weeks in one place: MOE's dates, every school's open house beside last year's cut-off point, and a clear way to choose six schools.
Dates are from MOE's S1 Posting pages and the open house list on MOE's Schoolbag, checked on 19 October 2026. Some MOE dates are marked tentative. We update this page if they change.

Key dates
The seven days after results day go quickly. Families who visit open houses and sketch a shortlist beforehand only need to adjust it once the score is known.
Source: MOE, Secondary 1 Posting. Dates marked tentative may change.
By end October
If your NRIC address has changed, tell your child's primary school by end October. MOE uses the official address if a child cannot be posted to any of their choices.
October to November
Most are on Saturday 14 November and Saturday 21 November, with more on 28 November. A few schools hold weekday sessions.
Tue 24 or Wed 25 Nov (tentative)
Your child receives the results slip, the S1 Option Form and an eligibility letter, which tells you their posting group.
7 calendar days from results day
On the S1 Portal from 11.30am on results day, until 4.30pm on the last day. The portal is open 24 hours a day in between.
Mon 7 and Tue 8 Dec
Our two-day camp on the first Sec 1 topics, at Coronation Plaza or on Zoom. Optional.
Fri 18 Dec (tentative)
On the S1 Portal from 9am, by SMS, or from your child's primary school. This year's cut-off points are published around the same time.
January 2027
Term 1 Math opens with prime factorisation, negative numbers and algebra.

Units become letters, working earns marks, and the pace picks up. What to expect in Term 1, and what helps in December.
Beyond the number
MOE asks parents to start from the child: what they are good at, what they enjoy and how they learn. These are the questions most families find useful.
The daily journey
Four years of the same commute. Try it at the real time of day before you rank a school highly.
Where your child would sit in the cohort
MOE's own point: if a score only just meets a school's cut-off, most classmates will have better scores. Some children thrive on that; others do better nearer the middle.
Programmes and CCAs
Each school's Applied Learning and Learning for Life programmes, its CCAs and its subject offerings are listed on SchoolFinder and shown at open houses.
Pathway and school type
The four-year SEC route or the six-year Integrated Programme; government, government-aided or independent; co-ed or single-sex; SAP or not.
After the choices are in
The units your child has drawn since P4 become letters in Term 1. Here is how we can help with that step, from December onwards.

MOE has given Tuesday 24 November or Wednesday 25 November 2026 (tentative), at 11am. Schools confirm the exact day closer to the date.
Six, in order of preference. You submit them on the S1 Portal within seven calendar days from 11.30am on results day, until 4.30pm on the last day. You can also submit through your child's primary school on weekdays.
The PSLE score of the last student posted to a school in each posting group in the previous year. It is a guide, not a promise: this year's cut-off points can move by a few points, and meeting one does not secure a place, because tie-breakers can still apply.
MOE strongly encourages including at least two to three schools where your child's PSLE score is better than the school's cut-off point in previous years, and listing your preferred schools higher. Our guide to choosing six schools walks through this step by step.
Only if the affiliated school is listed as the first choice. If it is listed lower, your child is considered as a non-affiliated applicant there.
MOE has given Friday 18 December 2026 (tentative). Results are on the S1 Portal from 9am and are also sent by SMS.
