Year-End Headstart 2026 · P6 going to Sec 1 · 7 and 8 Dec
Two days. Four topics. Ready for Sec 1.
PSLE is done, and secondary math is a different subject. Sec 1 starts with number topics your child has half met and algebra that goes further than the one-letter expressions they met in P6. Two days in December is a good time to meet both before school does.
Day 1: Prime Factorisation and Real Numbers, the two Sec 1 number topics that come first. Day 2: Introduction to Algebra, parts 1 and 2, worked through until the letters feel as familiar as the units. Your child brings home the tutor's written notes on where they stand. Taught by Ms JS Lee.
2026, Mon and Tue
+ S$260 of extras until 31 Oct
both days
Registration open · early bird until 31 Oct 2026
Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 December 2026, 10am to 3pm, at Coronation Plaza or live on Zoom. A Punggol run on 28 and 29 December opens on demand: tell admin on WhatsApp if you would prefer it. Register, and our admin team confirms your child's run and payment on WhatsApp.
The 2025 runs sold out, and seats are limited again in 2026.

Why P6 to Sec 1
Your child has drawn units since P4. Sec 1 asks them to call the unit x and work with it when there is no picture.
Day 1 covers the two number topics Sec 1 opens with, Prime Factorisation and Real Numbers, so the notation is familiar when secondary school starts. Day 2 takes algebra further: what a variable is, how the unit your child has drawn since P4 becomes a letter, and how to write and simplify expressions. The tutor's written notes tell you where your child stands.
Prime Factorisation and Real Numbers, the first Sec 1 number topics.
Introduction to Algebra, parts 1 and 2: from units to letters.
Simplifying and substituting, practised until it is automatic, with the tutor's written notes to bring home.
Day by day
The programme follows Genius Plus lesson codes 6HS1 to 6HS4, taught from our own in-house Sec 1 materials, the same curriculum our weekly Sec 1 classes use.
Day 1 · Mon 7 Dec · 10am to 3pm
Day 2 · Tue 8 Dec · 10am to 3pm
Sec 1 teaches all of this in Term 1. By the end of Day 2 your child will have met the two Sec 1 number topics, written and simplified algebraic expressions, and you will have the tutor's written notes on all of it.
What you get back
Over the two days the tutor watches how your child works: what they can already do on their own, and where they hesitate. Your child brings home the tutor's written notes. The progress consult follows after the camp.
The tutor writes down which question types your child can now do on their own, and one or two things to practise before Sec 1.
After the camp we sit down with you and go through the gaps and strengths we saw over the two days, where your child stands going into Sec 1, and what to focus on in Term 1.
A school test tells you how many marks went. This tells you what to work on, and why.

Who it suits
This camp is meant for the child who has finished PSLE and has not yet seen secondary math. If your child has already started Sec 1 algebra with us or at school, tell us on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether the two days are worth it for them.
The camp is a good fit if you:
Not sure? Send us your child's most recent P6 Math paper on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether this camp fits.
Your child does not need to have attended Genius Plus before.
Built on the MOE P6 and Sec 1 syllabus, so it follows what your child did this year and what Sec 1 starts with.
Taught from the same in-house materials as our weekly classes.

A word from Mrs Toh
"You plan for success. You do not wish for it."
One of my boys came home with 20 out of 30 for his Math weighted assessment and told me full marks was too far away for him. So I asked him: how far is 20 from 30? Very far, he said. Can you improve by one mark a day? Yes, he said, one mark is doable. Then how many days to 30? He thought about it. Ten.
Real life is harder than ten days, of course. But that is how I think about a child and Math. Our job as parents is not to panic. It is to find out which marks are going, fix one thing at a time, and let the small wins add up.
That is what these two days are for. The unit your child has drawn since P4 is what Sec 1 calls x. Ms JS Lee teaches one, guides one, then lets them try one, on the first Sec 1 number topics and on algebra itself, and writes down what she sees your child do over the two days. You go home knowing where your child stands, and where to start.
